Frequently Asked Questions

How do we know whether my student should take the SAT® or ACT®?

We begin by reviewing your student’s academic strengths, testing experience, and diagnostic results. Although colleges accept both tests equally, many students naturally perform better on one format. We help identify the best-fit test so your student can prepare strategically.

When should my student begin test preparation?

Most students benefit from beginning at least 8–12 weeks before their test date. Juniors should ideally start early enough to take an official test, review their results, and retest if needed before senior-year applications and scholarship deadlines.

Is the program personalized?

Yes. Each student receives an individualized preparation plan based on current scores, target goals, strengths, and areas for improvement. Sessions may include content review, testing strategies, pacing, practice questions, and full-length test analysis.

Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?

Yes. Palmetto Prep offers both in-person and virtual appointments, making it easier to fit test preparation around school, athletics, work, and extracurricular activities.

How many sessions will my student need?

The number of sessions depends on the student’s starting score, target score, testing timeline, and individual needs. Palmetto Prep offers both five-session and ten-session packages. We can recommend the most appropriate option after reviewing your student’s goals.

Can you guarantee a specific score increase?

While we cannot guarantee a specific score increase, we can guarantee that your student will receive a personalized preparation plan, targeted instruction, proven testing strategies, and ongoing support. Score improvement depends on several factors, including the student’s starting point, attendance, practice between sessions, and effort throughout the program.
